Save The Date Wedding Invitations

With the fast paced lives we all lead it is important to consider all of your guest’s needs and hectic time schedules when planning your wedding. That is why it is important to send a save the date wedding invitation before you actually send your real invitation. The save the date wedding invitations are the first glimpse your guests get into what type of wedding ceremony you will be having, as well as the actual date of the wedding. Although it does have the same name, a save the date wedding invitation is not actually an invitation. It is a place holder for the actual date and a way to let your guests know that there is something big happening that they should plan in advance for. It is extremely important to send a save the date wedding invitation for destination weddings especially, or weddings that will occur during important times of the year such as summer vacations for the children, or during holidays. These save the date cards should be sent out with enough advance notice so that guests can plan around your wedding. Six to Twelve months is usually the proper etiquette, but for destination weddings, twelve months is recommended so that everyone can plan their vacation or time off from work without any hassles. A save the date wedding invitation should include all pertinent information such as the wedding date and location. You may also want to include local hotels if there are guests coming from other locations as well as any suggestions for airlines and other people in their area so they have the choice of traveling together. For a destination wedding, it is customary that you let them know that you will be paying for all their travel arrangements and will get back to them with their itinerary if that is the case. Most people choose to coordinate their save the date wedding invitations to the theme of the wedding itself, but you don’t have to. You may just include an engagement picture of the happy couple, or perhaps something whimsical and funny such as a marriage cartoon. Anything is acceptable as they are not as formal as the invitations themselves. Again, with everyone having such a tight schedule to work around, it is proper to send out the save the date invitations to make sure all of your guests don’t miss your big day.
