For a destination wedding, it is customary that you let them know that you will be paying for all their travel arrangements and will get back to them with their itinerary if that is the case. Most people choose to coordinate their save the date wedding invitations to the theme of the wedding itself, but you don’t have to. You may just include an engagement picture of the happy couple, or perhaps something whimsical and funny such as a marriage cartoon. Anything is acceptable as they are not as formal as the invitations themselves. Again, with everyone having such a tight schedule to work around, it is proper to send out the save the date invitations to make sure all of your guests don’t miss your big day.
